'Grantwriting 101' at Hayward Nonprofit Alliance March 16

Members of the Hayward Nonprofit Alliance will learn about the science and art of grantwriting at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Hayward Area Historical Society Museum, 22380 Foothill Blvd. Dana DeBeaumont of Capitol Advocacy Partners represents interests of the City of Hayward in Washington D.C., and also writes grants and will speak on "Grantwriting 101 for Small Nonprofits."

She has more than 30 years of advocacy, media, and public relations experience.  For the past 18 years she has successfully represented a range of issues before Congress and federal agencies. She specializes in helping nonprofits and municipal clients.
Also speaking will be Tommy Fenster, on behalf of Stop Waste, the public agency responsible for reducing the waste stream in Alameda County. Funding via the Stop Waste grants program is available to nonprofits for projects that increase involvement in source reduction and recycling efforts, decrease the amount of waste generated and encourage the development, marketing and use of recycled products. While no maximum award amounts have been set, grants are typically expected to be in the range of $25,000- $65,000.
