Nonprofit Alliance Learns About "Spectacular" Fundraisers June 20 PDF Print E-mail

   Fundraising benefit events can be stressful and complicated as well as wonderful and profitable, and one of the best-known fundraisers in Hayward is the annual October "Spectacular" by St. Rose Hospital under the Grand White Tent.
   At its monthly meeting on June 20, members of the Hayward Nonprofit Alliance will hear a presentation on "How to Put on a Fundraising Spectacular" from St. Rose Foundation Executive Director Mike Cobb and special eSt. Rosevents coordinator Maria Cacia.
   The HNPA will meet at 10 a.m. at the San Felipe Park Community Center, 2058 D St. The organization is made up of more than 100 nonprofit organizations. All chamber members and their guests are invited to attend.

The monthly meeting of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce Latino Business Roundtable will be Friday, June 28 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Rose Hospital's Balch Pavilion, 27200 Calaroga Ave.

The speaker will be State Senator Ellen Corbett. The Latino Business Roundtable is open to all chamber members and has met every month for eight years under the leadership of Hayward City Councilman Francisco Zermeno.

Workshop June 13 on How the Health Care Act Affects Your Business PDF Print E-mail

    How the Affordable Health Care Act will affect employers and employees is the focus of a special event presented by the Hayward and San Leandro chambers of commerce from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13.

    The event has Kaiser Permanente and Divine Home Care as major sponsors, but will feature table-top exhibits from more than a half-dozen regional medical centers to allow local businesspersons to evaluate their options as they prepare to engage with the new insurance exchanges.

 

    Registrations for the event, which includes breakfast fare, are $15 per person.

 

    Medical centers and agencies can have a table-top display with two chairs for $55, including registration for two persons.
